I am a multi disciplinary designer with a keen interest in art direction, set design and collaboration. My work intends to communicate ideas through a playful and colourful aesthetic, gravitating towards simple shapes, elaborate colours and surreal themes. I then use a range of experimental techniques to communicate the message such as print making, photography, art installation, illustration, prop making and set design.
Particular interests that inspire my work are feminism, surrealism, women and cultures. I like to make work that is unusual, visceral and ambiguous, whilst colourfully eye catching maintaining my own contemporary, tribal style. I enjoy a hands on approach in making things physically, sculpturally and illustratively and then later using technology to enhance and adapt my work further.
Mixed emotions and the audience’s response plays a big part in my work, I like to evoke disgust, shock and pleasure. I like to create unthinkable compositions; wacky, freaky and strange worlds that people aren’t used to seeing, giving them an insight into my imagination.
